Calling all bovine practitioners!

You are invited to participate in a short survey being conducted by researchers from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph to identify the most frequently used practice management software among bovine veterinary practitioners in Ontario. The survey should take only 2 minutes to complete.

Please review the detailed project information sheet and invitation to participate and then follow the link below to learn more about the survey and to participate:

This survey will support the development of the project entitled An Online Platform for Expanding Antibiotic Stewardship (OPEN Stewardship).

Coming soon…

The OPEN Stewardship project will evaluate the effect of customised feedback and information for expanding antibiotic stewardship among veterinary practitioners. Participants will be asked to register to an online platform and provide a record of antimicrobial prescriptions for three specific clinical presentations (e.g. mastitis, respiratory illness and enteric illness) in dairy cattle. These prescription data will be securely accessed by data experts and anonymously used for generating feedback reports.

During the project, participants will receive 3 feedback emails at specific time intervals for their review and will then answer a short survey (~10 minutes) to provide the research team with their impressions of the feedback system (e.g. utility, clarity, ease of use, value of information etc.). Participants will be involved with the study for 12 months. In total approximately 60 minutes of participant time will be required.

The OPEN Stewardship team will begin enrolling large animal veterinarians in summer 2019 to participate in this project.

If you have any questions or concerns about the research, please feel free to contact Amy Greer (, 519-824-4120 extension 54070).
